Dear Parents, Guardians and J.P. Lord Community Members,
I am Laura Mac-Holmes, the Program Director (Principal) at J.P. Lord School and am very excited to begin the 2017-2018 school year. We have twelve wonderful teachers, twenty-four fabulous para professionals and two excellent registered nurses. We are also served by various agency private duty nurses and the OT and PT staff from Munroe Meyer Institute.
Together we provide students with severe physical and cognitive disabilities an excellent sensory curriculum with the medical care they need to excel at their own pace. At Dr. J.P. Lord School student progress is measured by each students Individual Educational Plan (IEP) created together with parents, educational staff and our medical staff.
We have much to be thankful about in the near future. We are having a new school built for us at 4444 Marinda Street. Our new neighbor will be Norris Middle School. Between contributions from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Omaha Public School’s bond issue our new facility was designed by BCDM, built by Darland and is due to be ready for us in the 2018-2019 school year.
If you have any questions for me or want to know more about our awesome school, please call me at 402-554-6771. Be ready to hear about all the great events that are going on each month at our school.
My best to you!
Laura Mac-Holmes, Program Director
